Our Story

The Professional Women’s Network (PWN) was born on a stormy evening in 1983, when five women gathered with a bold vision: to create a community where women in business could connect, support one another, and thrive.

That night, despite the weather, the room was overflowing with energy and women ready to step into something bigger. This set the tone for everything that has followed.

Since 1983 PWN has remained a powerful force on the Monterey Peninsula, championing women as leaders, entrepreneurs, and change makers. Our network is more than just meetings and mixers—it’s a sisterhood rooted in collaboration, empowerment, and community impact.

Each year, we honor outstanding women with our Woman of the Year Award, celebrating those whose lives and work uplift others and strengthen the fabric of our community. We also proudly invest in the future by awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships to women in business and the non-profit organizations they lead and serve. These scholarships open doors, fuel dreams, and make a lasting difference not only for the women who receive them but also for the communities they touch.
