Every year the Professional Woman’s Network (PWN) of the Monterey Peninsula honors a member as our Woman of the Year. The 2017 Woman of the Year is Denise Kaku.  

Denise Kaku has served as PWN President, Past President, Showcase Chairperson, and Past PWN Team Up for Democracy Chairperson.  Denise is an avid networker, connector and recognized leader in the local community. She retired from the IRS as an organizational development consultant and executive coach having started her IRS career as an auditor.  Denise has a Masters Degree in Organizational Development and is a Certified Somatic Leadership Coach.

       2016 Founder’s Award Winner, Leadership Monterey Peninsula 

       Original (and ongoing) donor to the Women’s Fund for the Community Foundation

       2007 Leadership Monterey Peninsula graduate (1st  PWN scholarship recipient)

       Girl’s Inc. Volunteer Mentor at Seaside High and facilitates a 15-­‐module leadership program on Careers, Education, and Health for girls at Seaside High. She is celebrating her 10th year as a Girl’s Inc. mentor.

       10 year member and past President of Zonta an organization whose mission is improving the status of women worldwide

       She is a volunteer leader for the Santa Project (which buys Christmas presents for children in the foster care system.)

       Denise is a past Circle of Red member, American Heart Association

       She is a 12 year volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association 

Denise is an excellent role model who conducts herself professionally and with integrity. She was Treasurer of the Carmel LeTip chapter for 5 years and handled the organization’s finances honestly and ethically. 

 

She actively promotes her business at PWN and LeTip and has developed several innovative workshops and business tools that serve her clients.  

 

Denise is dedicated to her work, volunteer responsibilities and family obligations; she frequently cares for her aging mother and speaks of her husband, daughter, granddaughter and mother with great affection.

 

Denise is gracious, professional and optimistic.
